ROANOKE RAPIDS - The Halifax County Tourism Development Authority, poised to turn this rural community into a popular tourist destination for national music acts, hired Distill to promote the Carolina Crossroads Music and Entertainment District's inaugural Summer Concert Series.
"With the launch of the Summer Concert Series, we have a great opportunity to put Carolina Crossroads on the map and attract the attention of national country music acts," said Adam Cohen, Distill founder and creative director.
The concert series, designed to build interest in Carolina Crossroads even before the first venue is completed, kicked off with a concert by the popular country duo Big & Rich on June 3. Distill created posters, billboards and radio spots to promote the concert performance.
The same look and feel will be used to promote upcoming concerts by contemporary Christian artists Third Day and Steven Curtis Chapman (August 19) and country music legend Hank Williams Jr. and Gretchen Wilson (September 23).
In addition, Distill has developed a business-to-business advertising campaign aimed at attracting national retailers and restaurant chains to the Carolina Crossroad's shopping district. The ads are currently running in retail trade magazines.
"Distill was perfectly suited to our needs. We're excited about leveraging their creative talents to generate interest in Carolina Crossroads," said Lori Medlin, executive director of the Halifax Country Tourism Development Authority.
