For the second straight year, Distill was among the most recognized advertising agencies at the Triangle ADDY Awards, presented by the Ad Club of the Triangle. Distill captured 11 ADDY awards - no other agency received more awards - including a coveted judge's choice award and three gold awards for advertising excellence. The awards were presented at a special ceremony on February 24.
"It's extremely gratifying to be recognized within the industry for work we're very proud of," said Adam Cohen, Distill's founder and creative director. "It takes two to tango in this business, though. Our work is a collaboration with our clients, so we see these awards as a tribute to them as much as us."
The ADDY awards recognize Distill's outstanding creative and design work for Dr. Jodi Foy, a Raleigh dentist; Alien Skin Software, a local technology company; Jetcraft, an aircraft sales broker; and Clary Sage, a Durham-based gift store. Distill also won two awards for self-promotional work.
For Dr. Foy, Distill won a gold award for an innovative approach to business card design. The die-cut business cards look similar to ads and feature quirky quotes from Dr. Foy, such as: "Now that we've met, how about introducing me to your teeth?" A related advertising campaign received two silver awards, including a "Judge's Choice" award.
A campaign to launch Exposure, a new software package from Alien Skin aimed at the professional photography market, received a gold award for logo design and two silver awards for a national print ad.
Distill also won bronze awards for a national print ad for Jetcraft and logo design for Clary Sage.
Last year, Distill won 11 awards during its first ADDY competition.
The American Advertising Federation (AAF) ADDY Awards are the industry's largest competition, recognizing and rewarding creative excellence in the art of advertising. Every year approximately 60,000 entries are submitted in local ADDY competitions. The Triangle ADDY awards are presented locally by the Ad Club of the Triangle. Gold award winners will move on to compete in regional and national competitions.
