Art.com Selects Distill for Interactive Project
September 2004

Art.com, the world's largest online art marketplace, has selected Distill to create an interactive canvas that will allow customers to create their own digital artwork.

When completed, the interactive ArtPad™ will be available through the Art.com website. Customers can use the free tool to electronically paint or draw their own custom art. Finished works can be displayed in a virtual art gallery.

"Art.com came to us with a goal of further engaging their existing customers while simultaneously reaching out to new ones," said Jennifer Heinz, director of Distill's Interactive division. "Our concept is to have ArtPad™ function as a viral marketing tool; users will create original artwork, then invite their family and friends to return to the site to view these masterpieces and create their own. The feature set will be functional enough to spark a user's creative side, yet simple enough for anyone to use, regardless of their web savvy."

Art.com leverages technology to provide consumers the largest selection of wall art, including reproductions, original works and pre-framed art selections, as well as high-quality custom framing services. Founded in 1995 and based in Research Triangle Park, NC, Art.com is dedicated to providing consumers with high quality art, along with an excellent customer shopping experience.
